The South Causey Inn near Beamish in County Durham is a rustic gem of a pub that you simply must add to your list of places to visit with your dog. They are very dog friendly and even have resident dogs in various areas around the Inn. This establishment is a beautiful country family pub, restaurant, hotel and cocktail bar situated in the heart of the Beamish valley just 6 miles outside of Durham City.


The South Causey Inn offers a traditional hearty menu – ideal after a brisk day’s walk with your dog. Featuring on the menu, fish & chips, mince and dumplings, steak and ale with dumplings and giant, filled Yorkshire puddings as well as gluten-free dishes. They also serve gastropub classics such as burgers, pies and steaks. Delicious Sunday roasts are also served and your dog is welcome to dine with you in the snug and bar areas.


You can also enjoy afternoon tea with your dog – with sweet and savoury scones, sandwiches and cake for the humans plus a healthy doggie treat selection available!
